State Electricity Company Operate Mini Gas Power Plant in Sumbagsel


INILAH.COM, Jakarta - the electrical system in the region of Southern Sumatra (Sumbagsel) will increase its availability.
State Electricity Company has operate Mini Gas Power Plant  in the area.
This is made possible by the operation of the
Mini Gas Power Plant, Merah Mata. Symbolically, the Director of Operations  State Electricity Company Indonesia Hary Jaya Pahlawan, Mini Gas Power Plant inaugurate the operation of the Merah Mata is located in the hamlet Borang Village, Merah Mata, Banyuasin district on Friday (19 / 8).

Merah Mata is one of the power plant lease contract was signed in June 2011 between the consortium of  State Electricity Company  Navigat Energy.

Mini Gas Power Plant Merah Mata  is a type mobile gas engines with a total capacity of 35 MW, consisting of nine units each with a capacity of 3.3 MW and 2 units with a capacity of 2.7 MW. Total energy production that would result from this Mini Gas Power Plant is 151.2 GWh, which needs 6.8 BBTU gas / day to optimize the makeup gas at 11 563 BBTU borang.
Mini Gas Power Plant operation of the gas, but is intended to further strengthen the electrical system in the region Sumbagsel, is also expected to increase power supply capacity more efficiently and reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
So it is expected by the operation Mini Gas Power Plant
Merah Mata, then State Electricity Company can make savings of Rp 52.6 billion. Going forward, State Electricity Company will further enhance the use of gas for coal-fired peaker. Peaker plant is generating peak load bearer.
State Electricity Company  in the near future will build a peaker power plant in the Sei Gelam Jambi with a capacity of 90 MW utilizing technologically CNG (Compressed Natural Gas).
Until the first half of this year, peak load Sumbagsel electrical system has reached 2076 MW. In line with economic growth in the region are a constantly moving dynamic, the electrical load growth rate will likely continue to creep up.
To anticipate this, it is expected to start later in the year 2012 there will be additional Sumbagsel amounting to 334 MW of power so it will be better prepared to anticipate the growth in electricity demand in the region Sumbagsel.
