ITEMS SAFETY INSPECTION CHECK FOR GAS TESTING
- Are personnel trained in
the use of gas detector equipment?
- Is there a master list on site of
the certified authorized gas testers?
- Are the portable gas detectors kept in a secure location when not in
use?
- Are the portable gas detectors uniquely identified and is the latest
calibration date displayed?
- Is maintenance work on gas detector carried out only by qualified
personnel?
- Are the portable gas detectors
tested prior to issue as per the pre-issue checklist?
- Has a gas test been completed before any Hot Work commences in
classified area?
- Is there a permanent portable gas monitor on-site, when any hot work or
confined space entry work scope is on going?
- Has the correct permit been issued and does it satisfy the requirements
of the work scope?
- Are oxygen levels monitored continuously during work in a confined
space?
- Are personnel aware of the danger of oxygen enrichment?
- Have initial tests been complete for confined space entry i.e.: oxygen
content
