600 MW power plant was built in Kabaena

Generating electrical energy capacity of 600 megawatts (MW) were added at Island Kabaena, Bombana District, Southeast Sulawesi by PT International Billy.
Plan for electric energy development on the island Kabaena by nickel mining company was revealed by Southeast Sulawesi governor Nur Alam in Kendari, today.
"The company will build power plants in Kabaena to meet the needs of electrical energy for the nickel industry will be built beginning in 2012 and is planned to begin operating early 2014," he said.

Governor Nur Alam said the industrial capacity that will be established on the island Kabaena between 20000-25000 tonnes of ferrous nickel per year. Gero nickel production as much as it is to meet the needs of the market in European countries.
